One's Observations

A collection of some things I observe along the way.

Retrieving...

So the automaker CEO's were criticized for flying jets to Washington in the fall/winter of 2008. But now it si OK to have 3...correction...8 more more jets for congress at a tax payer's expense of $550 million. "Congress plans to spend $550 million to buy eight jets, a substantial upgrade to the fleet used by federal officials at a time when lawmakers have criticized the use of corporate jets by companies receiving taxpayer funds." (Wall Street Journal) Yet, there are more cuts for our military. "Defense Secretary Robert Gates ordered another $50 to 60 billion more be cut from the Pentagon’s five-year defense budget plan, with new replacements for worn-out war equipment on the chopping block." (Heritage Foundation)

Meanwhile the rest of us are scraping through during a recession like nothing we've seen in since the 1930's.

When will the insanity stop? When we start to speak up and get the spenders out of government.
