One's Observations

A collection of some things I observe along the way.

Retrieving...

I was looking ton the web at the Department of Education and noticed the DOE seal has a large tree with an ACORN in the truck. How cow!!! Not sure if there is any connection between the DOE and ACORN that is being subtly presented in art.

Your thoughts?

Any concrete information out there to connect these dots?

Right...I'm sure it has nothing to do with the symbolism of an actual acorn...Acorns only appear on adult trees, often a symbol of patience and the fruition of long, hard labor. Kind of like the hard work that goes into receiving an education. I think you're stretching with this one...

Maybe it is a stretch but with this mob in leadership anything is possible. It could be just like the artwork right in front of our eyes in New York that expresses symbolic images of communism and it;s bee there for decades. We may never truely know.

I guess you'll see what ever it is you want to see, whether it is there or not.

There has to be a connection. The race/ethnicity data that was collected from all public school children at the start of school was being reported to the Office of Civil Rights. No explanation as to why, and this is the first year for that reporting, which is mandatory per the feds. If you go to OCR's website you are essentially inside the dept. of Ed. website also. ACORN has strong ties to civil rights organizations, so one could very reasonably and easily make a connection between them & the OCR, and therefore make the connection between Acorn & DoE. I'm just starting to dig into this..have lots of questions that no one seems to be able to answer.
