One's Observations

A collection of some things I observe along the way.

States Seceding

Glenn Beck interviews New Hampshire representative Dan Itse on the issue of state sovereignty and New Hampshire's new bill stating sovereignty from the federal government under the U.S. Constitution:

"Fed up with Washington's involvement in everything from land use to gun control to education spending, states across the country are fighting back against what they say is the federal government's growing intrusion on their rights."

"At least 35 states have introduced legislation this year asserting their power under the Tenth Amendment to regulate all matters not specifically delegated to the federal government by the Constitution." (FoxNews Article)

"For some states, the message to the federal government is clear: Back off."

"Legislatures in Alaska, Idaho, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota this year have approved resolutions asserting sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the Constitution and suggesting that Uncle Sam "cease and desist" from interfering in their business." (USAToday Article)

IMHO, this sovereignty move by the states is a metered response to the increasing totalitarian trends in the federal government. People won't simply stand by and watch as a central politburo is established!
