One's Observations

A collection of some things I observe along the way.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. ~ Bill of Rights, First Amendment

"Just look at the part that addresses speech, “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech…” Nowhere does it say that you are granted the right of freedom of speech, it says you have it, were born with it, and the government cannot do anything about it. But that’s not how it’s viewed or even talked about by politicians these days." (Big Government)

Anything we say in opposition to the great panacea Obama is gonna start the knee-jerking. There is no real defense these liberals can use when faced with the sheer bozosity of most of Obama's policies. So they push the race button. In their logic, race must trump free speech ... except that the race component is missing, so they have to contrive it.

It's not surprising however that nowhere in the conservative blogosphere can one find any hint of a racist agenda. In fact, most of the comparing being done is with the Carter administration! What part of that speaks about race?

We have the media mashing the race button as if it was a taxi horn in New York City ... and it is the same song and dance performed by the likes of Sharpton and Jackson as well as Rangel et al under the Bush presidency.

Liberals have NOTHING with which to do intellectual battle in this one, so they lay on that race button. It is irrelevant at best, and it is getting old.
